It is August already, and summer is heading towards its close. But before it does, we’d like to get together, in-person!! Although we all belong to the “WM club”, as we know, we are all so different. So, this is an opportunity to get together, relax, chat about whatever we like (including WM, of course), and picnic.
In particular, we hope this is an opportunity for those outside of Ottawa to plan on a leisurely drive in. Much as the Zoom era enables remote participation in Support Group meetings, there is nothing that can replace good, old-fashioned, face-to-face meetings.
For many years, this group met twice a year in an informal social setting. In summer, there was a picnic / potluck / BBQ, and in December there was a restaurant meeting prior to the winter holidays. After the disruption of the pandemic and the introduction of Zoom, we’d like to at least restore this portion of our face-to-face meetings.
Michel and Dale have kindly offered their backyard and home for a summer potluck.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on August 28th at 12 noon, whether we are old friends or you are new to the group! And, of course, partners / caregivers are welcome.
Please reply to both Daniel (daniel.zlatin@sympatico.ca) and Michel (mmbour49@gmail.com), letting us know how many plan on joining, as well as what kind of dish you intend to bring. We will need appetizers, salads, and dessert, and Michel will supply the main course. If you have dietary restrictions, please make sure you bring something as necessary.
